Here's the recording of Wurm 7. It's short and sweet. Mind the accents and more importantly, don't accent notes that are not accented. Trumpet has built in staccato...blow through those sixteenth notes to avoid getting tongue tied. Good luck in your preparation!
This is a great etude with plenty of opportunity to show your uniqueness! Good luck in your preparation. The other two etudes will be posted soon. Be sure to check back here. Let me know if you have any questions about getting this piece whipped into shape in the comments.
These are recordings of the trumpet etudes for the Plano middle school All-Region audition coming up next month.
If you are just starting practicing don't start from the beginning. Learn the last measures of each first and work backwards from there. Remember that it never makes sense to "practice" groups of measures if you cannot play the measures in the group. Learn simple measures first and your practice sessions will flow.
I hope you find the recordings helpful. If you hit any snags please feel free to let me know in the comments.
I just recorded the audition etudes for the Plano middle schoolers. These are the four etudes for Texas Region 25 this year. This year is slightly different. There are four shorter etudes this year and two will be chosen for phase one and the other two will be the selections for phase two. There will be no cuts in either phase. My tempos are announced in the recordings and marked below as well.
Be sure to subscribe while you're here for updates. I'll be recording excerpts of these etudes with practicing suggestions and posting them here. You can also subscribe to the podcast to stay up to date with the recordings.
If you don't have a copy of these etudes you can download one here.
This is a recording of the first ATSSB Trumpet etude for 2014. It is from the Voxman Selected Studies for Trumpet book page 2. The Adagio Cantabile by Galay recording is the required section from measure 3 of line 2 to the first note of measure 3 on line 8.
This is year "D" according the the ATSSB designation.
i just reordered this one and the second etude will be up here soon!
